WaveMaker Growth Shows Increasing Demand for Easy to Use Web Tools

WaveMaker is top development tool download at Apple.com; Ends Third Quarter With Record Downloads as Developer Community Grows to More Than 5,000 Users

SAN FRANCISCO—September 22, 2008—WaveMaker™,the leading visual development platform for web applications, today announced that the company is ending Q3 on a wave of new strategic partnerships and a record 20,000 downloads per week. WaveMaker Visual Ajax Studio 4.0 is an open source development tool that allows users to build web applications without complex coding.

WaveMaker was recently selected as a staff pick for Apple development tools and became the number one development tool download on Apple.com. In addition to the increase in downloads of WaveMaker Visual Ajax Studio, the company has marked a period of tremendous partner momentum, downloads and community growth.

Strategic Partnerships & OEM Relationships:
Over the last five months, several software vendors have partnered with WaveMaker to make web development easier for their end users.

  • EnterpriseDB: In April, WaveMaker joined the EnterpriseDB Blade Partner Program. Under terms of the agreement, WaveMaker included EnterpriseDB's Postgres Plus product in WaveMaker Visual Ajax Studio 4.0. The result is the first open source What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWIG) Web application development and deployment platform for the open-source market.

  • Xignite partnership: During July, Xignite and WaveMaker combined web services allowing Xignite customers can easily create and deploy mash-ups to an existing Web page or dashboard in a matter of minutes.

  • KANA partnership: In September, WaveMaker announced an OEM partnership with KANA Software. KANA selected WaveMaker's Visual Ajax Studio in order to build a browser-based client interface for its next-generation customer service solution. The agreement will license KANA's 700 customers to use WaveMaker studio by the end of 2008.

Growing Industry Visibility, Community Growth & Accolades
In the last two months, WaveMaker downloads and community participation have increased dramatically.

  • Downloads: with the release of WaveMaker 4.0 in mid August, WaveMaker saw download volumes exceeding 20,000 downloads per week

  • Community Members: WaveMaker's development community continues to grow at a rapid pace. The community recently exceeded 5,000 members; 1,000 of these members joined the community after the release of WaveMaker 4.0. In Q3 community activity gained momentum; there has been an average of 30 posts a day, including the weekends.

  • WaveMaker Training: within two weeks of shipping release 4.0, WaveMaker conducted its first paid training courses.

  • Industry Visibility: Christopher Keene, CEO of WaveMaker, is in demand to present WaveMaker's vision for democratizing the development of web applications. In the next two months, he is presenting at AjaxWorld, Cloud Summit Executive and the Virtualization Conference & Expo.
